*Regular meetings are at the Prescott Library, 6:30-8:30 pm, usually the second Wednesday of the month September-May
December: No meeting
January 13, 2010: Dave Gillette from the Museum of Northern Arizona will be speaking on the science behind his team's remarkable discovery of one of the few - and almost complete - therizinosaur skeletons found in the world.
February 10: Leah Butler from the EPA will talk on the clean-up at the Iron King Mine
March 10: Wayne Ranney with his newly published book on Sedona: "What's New with Sedona Geology"
April 14: Ron Blakey: "The Tertiary in the Western US." So much happened here in Arizona in so little time.
May 12: Steve Maslansky: "Amazonite and Smoky Quartz of the Pikes Peak Region: Genesis of an American Treasure."
The Central Arizona Geology Club is a friendly group of people, both geologists and non-geologists, who get together monthly (except in summer) to hear a speaker and to share discoveries and ideas (show and tell time). We also try to have periodic field trips to areas of geologic interest.
