I would like to see the well water trace chemistry for the area and see what the leach rate from the tailings (and the mine) really is. The movement of water through the old mine workings is probably releasing as much As (and Hg, Pb, etc) as the tailings, both on site and distributed in the area.
The Central Arizona Geology Club is a friendly group of people, both geologists and non-geologists, who get together monthly (except in summer) to hear a speaker and to share discoveries and ideas (show and tell time). We also try to have periodic field trips to areas of geologic interest. We have no dues.
