High clearance vehicles are strongly recommended, but 4WD is usually unnecessary unless muddy conditions exist. Back road, isolated travel is required, so bring your lunch, water, hiking boots, sunscreen, cameras, rain jackets, first aid, and other accoutrements for the whole day. Day 2 Geostops will terminate ~1700 at a remote location about 7 miles off the highway and some 25 miles from Holbrook.
Overnight camping available at remote location with NO facilities and NO water. Numerous motels and restaurants are available in Holbrook for overnight.

Day 3, Sunday, April 11th: Depart McDonald’s @ 0915, heading to Winslow via I-40. Head to Chevelon Canyon and McCauley Sinks, arriving ~1015. Back road, isolated travel is required, so bring your lunch, water, hiking boots, sunscreen, cameras, rain jackets, first aid, and other accoutrements for the whole day. Day 3 Geostops will terminate ~1400, allowing for return to Prescott ~1730, or optional stops at Meteor Crater, Grand Falls, or Walnut Canyon.
