- The Central Arizona Geology Club is a friendly group of people, both geologists and non-geologists, who get together monthly (except in summer) to hear a speaker and to share discoveries and ideas (show and tell time). We also try to have periodic field trips to areas of geologic interest. We have no dues.

Hello - my 9yr old son and I are looking for a local rockhound / geology guru who may be willing to go on some hikes around Mingus Mountain (we live in Cottonwood). We are interested in learning about the area, he is specifically interested in Iron, gold, silver. We are seeking out iron sand (he wants to smelt out steel at some point if we can find enough). Anyone out there that would be interested in doing some educational hikes? May be an opportunity for compensation. Thanks
